The medical world is changing daily -- as is the internet. In order to keep the information provided on these pages current and up-to-date, I need your help. If you know of a website, doctor, research paper, book, etc. that you believe would be useful to women accessing this site, PLEASE email me! I want your input. I need your input. I beg for your input.
If you read information on these pages that you believe to be inaccurate or misleading that I, specifically, have written, please let me know. It is not my intent to misinform. It may well be that I am misinformed and need someone to politely point out my errors in thinking. Please do so.
Special thanks to the multitude of people who have contributed to the information presented within this site. In particular, Jean Curtin who provided an immeasurable amount of support and untold number of site links during my quest for answers over the past year.
Also, my heart and gratitude goes out to the following physicians who have shaped my thinking, tested my medical idiocy, and helped me to grow as a person in charge of my own health:
I wish, truly, that this list was longer. Sad to say, it isn't. I'm certain that there are some wonderful physicians "out there" -- but in my 45 years on this planet, these are the few that I have encountered. The rest were toads. Big, ugly, scary toads. Too many bad experiences to even begin to list them here. Generally, I avoid doctors like the plague. These few have helped me to see that not all doctors are toads. (Well, except for the last one. . .)
And finally, thank you to my family: My daughter, Melissa, who is a gifted, impatient 20-year-old, with more internet skill and savvy than I could ever hope for, who shared her knowledge and skills in an effort to support her mom through a life-changing event; my sons, Alex and Brian who are extremely happy to have me "back" as their mother; and, my husband--a man I love dearly who has both hurt me and helped me in our 23 years together--but most of all simply loved me. He views this "internet thing" as therapy. And, he's right. It is.
